Terms of use

Last updated: October 27, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Fanelio, operated by Melitus Iloegbunam in Nova Scotia, Canada. By using Fanelio you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.

1. Who can use Fanelio

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for online services in your country if that's higher. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in details and secret passphrase safe.

2. Your content

You own what you send. You give Fanelio permission to store and deliver it to the people you choose, which is all we do with it. Because messages are end-to-end encrypted, we can't see them unless someone reports them and chooses to share them with us.

3. Using Fanelio responsibly

You agree not to use Fanelio to:

If you see someone breaking these rules, report them from their profile or the chat. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.

4. Safety features are not emergency services

SOS, live location and check-ins help you reach the people you choose, but they depend on internet connections, your phone and other people seeing the alert. They don't contact police, ambulance or fire services. In an emergency, always call your local emergency number.

5. The service

Fanelio is free. We work hard to keep it reliable and secure, but we provide it “as is” and can't promise it will always be available, error-free or that messages will always be delivered. We may change, add or remove features. Keep your own backups of anything important.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Fanelio isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Account. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.

8. Changes to these terms

If we make important changes, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Fanelio after that, you accept the new terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
